One of the things I most love about Arrow Video Frightfest is when the gang scour the globe for some fresh blood from overseas – and I’m delighted to say they’ve done it again this year.

High on my list of must-sees is Rodrigo Fiallega’s Mexican shocker The Exorcism Of Carmen Farias, which is getting its international premiere in London.

Headlined by actress/singer/model Camila Sodi, this one looks like it could certainly dial up the scare factor – if the trailer is anything to go by anyway.

Here’s some blurb:

The exciting Mexican Wave of epic horror continues with this Gothic-drenched shocker, headlining rising Latin star Camila Sodi. She plays brave journalist Carmen who receives two crushing blows one after the other. Told she can possibly never have children, she then witnesses her mother die in hospital. At the reading of her mother’s will, she’s surprised to learn she’s inherited her grandmother’s old house, a building assumed to have long been sold. Moving into the rundown property, the strange and unsettling incidents begin… unlocking dark secrets her ancestors wanted to keep hidden to maintain her safety.

Here’s that trailer – I’ve been unable to find one with English subtitles yet, but you get the drift…

Also starring the likes of Juan Pablo Castañeda, Lucy Paez and Juan Carlos Colombo, The Exorcism Of Carmen Farias plays at Frightfest on Friday, August 27.
