Fancy a bit of Dutch horror with your Frightfest smorgasbord this summer?

If so, then you are in luck, courtesy of director Ivo van Aart’s The Columnist, which looks to push the boundary of internet trolling to breaking point.

Here’s the synopsis:

Newspaper columnist and writer’s blocked author Femke Boot (Katja Herbers from ‘Westworld’) is suddenly flooded with anonymous nasty messages and death threats on her social media pages.  Who is responsible and why are they doing it? When she finds out her revenge is swift and unfortunately deadly. And her mission in life becomes crystal clear.

Alongside Boot the film stars Genio de Groot, Rein Hofman and Bram van der Kelen, and marks van Aart’s push into feature-length fare, having cut his teeth on Dutch television series Spangas and Suspicious Minds (among others).

We’ve found a trailer for this one – in Dutch with Korean subtitles (of course)…

The Columnist screens at Arrow Video Frightfest digital on Saturday, August 29.
