Arrow Video Frightfest preview: Boar Simon Fitzjohn July 27, 2018 Film4 Frightfest, London, London Previews 1631 A bit of creature feature carnage always goes down well at Frightfest, so Aussie offering Boar rolls in to fill that spot very nicely. The bonus this time is not only do we get a effects extravaganza with ‘tusk appeal’ to rival the classic Razorback, but we also get a cast stuffed with well known genre faces, including the likes of Bill Moseley and John Jarratt, along with Steve Bisley, who Mad Max fans will remember as the original’s Jim Goose. Behind the camera is Chris Sun, who already has horror outings Come and Get Me, Daddy’s Little Girl and Charlie’s Farm to his name, so there is plenty of pedigree here. Here’s a synopsis: Move over RAZORBACK, there’s an even bigger beast in Ozploitation Land. One with a ruthless driving need for blood and destruction. It cares for none, defends its outback territory with brutal force, and kills with a raw savagery unlike anything seen before. City slickers with no respect for nature, drunken sheep-farming locals and the collective casts of the original MAD MAX and WOLF CREEK may try to go up against it. But what chance do they have against a giant predator with an insatiable appetite? A creature feature with splatterific tusk appeal. So run for your lives! And here’s a trailer for you…  Boar gets its UK premiere at Frightfest on Friday, August 24.
