Steaming into Horror Channel Frightfest with one of my favourite taglines in a long while – ‘You made your bed, now die in it’ – Jeff Maher’s Bed Of The Dead seems set to get the Halloween shindig off to a gory, and surreal, start.

The film marks Maher’s directorial debut in terms of features, but the Canadian has a healthy Frightfest back catalogue, having produced the likes of Antisocial, Bite and Let Her Out over recent years.

Here’s the synopsis for his latest effort:

Out celebrating a birthday, two couples decide to party in a foursome at a sex club. Finding all the fantasy dungeons booked they are offered the mysterious Room 18 and start getting down to orgy business on the antique bed. But Room 18 has a dark history, the bed is haunted and once between the sheets, you can’t leave the mattress or you die. Plagued with frightening hallucinations across multi-dimensions, they must figure out the bed’s secrets before they are all doomed. A race against time begins in a gloriously gruesome, gorgeous gore-fest from the LET HER OUT terror team.

The flick stars the likes of Colin Price, Alysa King (who popped up in recent series Slasher), Gwenlyn Cumyn and Dennis Andres.

Bed Of The Dead kicks off Horror Channel Frightfest Halloween at 10.30am on October 22.
