Director/producer Tricia Lee steps back into the director’s chair with Blood Hunters (formerly known as One Drop).

Looking to follow up her award-winning genre efforts Silent Retreat and Clean Break, this outing looks to be a mix of body horror, deserted hospital spookfest and creature feature.

Here’s the synopsis:

Toronto-based director Tricia Lee returns to the genre with an elevated horror about a single mother who wakes up in a medical facility to find everyone is dead and she’s nine months pregnant. As she struggles to escape she discovers the facility’s secret, they’ve tampered with the boundaries of death and brought people back to life, but those who’ve returned, have not returned alone. But ONE DROP is more than just about survival because horror is only the backdrop to the truth about how the simple choices in your life can have a ripple effect that can change the world.

Lee’s opus stars the likes of Lara Gilchrist, Benjamin Arthur, Torri Higginson, Mark Taylor and Julian Richings.

The great news for Frightfest attendees is that Blood Hunters is getting its world premiere at the shindig on Monday, August 29 – here’s a trailer to tide you over until then:
