If you enjoyed booby-trap gorefests The Collector and The Collection (as we did), or horror starlet Alex Essoe’s turn in 2014’s excellent Starry Eyes (as we definitely did) then chances are The Neighbour (or Neighbor) will be, or certainly should be, on your must-see list.

Put together by writer/director team Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (who gave us the Collector double), the film stars Essoe, as well as genre favourite Josh Stewart, with Bill Engvall taking on sinister duty as the titular character.

Here’s some more info on the film:

They gave us FEAST, THE COLLECTOR and THE COLLECTION. Now the acclaimed writer/director team of Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton introduce THE NEIGHBOR. Rosie (Alex Essoe, STARRY EYES) is shocked when she spies her neighbour chase and brutally beat an injured man. Then he turns his attentions to her…  When boyfriend John (Josh Stewart, THE COLLECTION) finds her missing, clues lead to the house next-door where he discovers the dark truth about his secretive neighbour and what he keeps in the cellar. And just when John thinks it can’t get any worse he finds Rosie… and the true nightmare begins.

With a solid cast, and a trailer that hints at some violent, intense shenanigans, The Neighbour could be one to seek out when it gets its European premiere in London on Sunday, August 28.
