Set to make its bow at Cannes this year, the first teaser for Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon has landed, and it is as glossy, synthy (if that’s even a word) and mysterious as we could have hoped for.

Here’s the synopsis:

When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will use any means necessary to get what she has.

Starring Elle Fanning (Somewhere, Malificent), Jena Malone (Inherent Vice, The Hunger Games), Abbey Lee (Max Max: Fury Road), Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows), Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men, Drive), The Neon Demon sees Refn reunite with Drive and Only God Forgives composer Cliff Martinez and editor Mat Newman. The film is produced by Lene Børglum and co-written by Nicolas Winding Refn, Mary Laws and Polly Stenham.

Set for a summer release in UK cinemas, here’s that teaser:
