Seeking to put (yet another) spin on the gothic legend, the trailer for Victor Frankenstein has landed.

Appearing to contain plenty of action (as well as humour), James McAvoy stars as the titular scientist, with Daniel Radcliffe appearing as a very different sidekick Igor than previous creations.

Here’s the synopsis:

Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.

Paul McGuigan is in the director’s chair, easing back into features after concentrating on TV (Sherlock etc) over recent years.

The film lands in cinemas in November, and here’s the trailer:
