Frightfest London preview: Goddess Of Love Simon Fitzjohn August 12, 2015 Film4 Frightfest, London, London Previews 2330 Billed as a mash-up of the psychosexual stylings of Brian De Palma and Roman Polanski, Goddess Of Love storms into Frightfest for its UK premiere. Coming courtesy of director Jon Knautz (whose recent slasher Girlhouse debuted on DVD on these shores a few week’s back), the film stars Alexis Kendra (who also writes) as a woman with vengeance very much on her mind. Here’s a synopsis: Enter into a baroque vortex of madness when an emotionally unstable stripper is shattered after being dumped by her boyfriend. Brian was the love of Venus’ life and the thought of him having an affair with another woman begins her volatile descent into the dark side of psychosexual insanity. Kendra has the likes of Hatchet II, Big Ass Spider! and Girlhouse on her acting CV, so it will be interesting to see how she pulls off leading lady status. Joining her in the cast are the likes of Woody Naismith and Elizabeth Sandy, with the film playing in London on Monday, August 31. Here’s a trailer:
