Paranoia, government conspiracies, a cabin in the woods and Larry Fessenden – Mickey Keating’s Pod certainly sounds good to us.

Writer/director Keating’s third outing behind the camera – after Ultra Violence and 2013’s Ritual, appears an intriguing proposition, especially when you check out the trailer below.

Here’s a full synopsis:

Ed and Lyla are so worried about their psychologically unstable brother Martin they head to the family cabin in the woods to stage an intervention.

Whta greets them is a raving paranoid individual rambling about a government conspiracy that’s threatening his life and claims he’s holding a military issue prototype ‘pod’ in the cellar.

Is the veteran soldier having the complete mental breakdown they feared? Or could it really be true?

Billed by our Frightfest friends as ‘an in-your-face thriller-cum-hard-edged creature feature’ Pod also stars the likes of Jug Face’s Lauren Ashley-Carter and Brian Morvant and gets its UK premiere on Friday, August 28.
