Yet to get a UK release date (but set for a September debut in the US), the American trailer for creepy kids flick Goodnight Mommy has landed – and it hits all the right spots.

Actually, we not only have creepy kids but also creepy mother this time around, as the trailer hints at a sinister mystery as much as a full-blown scarefest.

Here’s a synopsis:

In the heat of the summer lays a lonesome house in the countryside where nine year old twin brothers await their mother’s return. When she comes home, bandaged after cosmetic surgery, nothing is like before and the children start to doubt whether this woman is actually who she says she is. What ensues is a terrifying observational struggle with fatal consequences on par with THE SHINING and DEAD RINGERS.

Severin Fiala and Veronica Franz form a writing/directing double-act, with the Austrian film starring Susanne Wuest as mother and Elias and Lukas Schwarz as, yep, you’ve guessed it, creepy twins.
