Frightfest London preview: Road Games Simon Fitzjohn August 4, 2015 Film4 Frightfest, London, London Previews 2115 I’ll be totally honest with you – any film that references 1970s Pamela Franklin flick And Soon The Darkness already has me sold, so Abner Pastoll’s Road Games has a lot to live up to. A France/UK production, this tense thriller promises hitchhikers, suspense and plenty of bloodshed, helped no doubt by the appearance of Barbara Crampton among the cast. Here’s the synopsis: When hitchhiker Jack rescues Veronique from a road rage altercation, the twosome decide to travel together for safety’s sake after learning a serial killer is cutting a murderous swathe through the region. Tired and hungry they decide against their better judgement to take up an offer to stay the night at a mysterious elderly couple’s mansion. Let the deranged, demented and bloody escapades begin….. Pastoll has the likes of TV series Action UK! to his name, as well as a host of short films and 2004 thriller Shooting Shona, while the cast includes the likes of Andrew Simpson and Josephine de La Baume. Here’s a teaser trailer for the film (which screens on Sunday, August 30)Â that gives absolutely nothing away:
