I’ll be honest, former X Factor star Diana Vickers and Frightfest are two things I never, ever expected to include in the same sentence.

But here’s Awaiting, a slow-burn horror that stars Vickers alongside the likes of Tony Curran and Rupert Hill.

A British horror that seems set to suggest psychological chills over in-your-face carnage, director Mark Murphy’s effort will get its UK premiere in London on Monday, August 31.

Here’s a synopsis:

Morris is a recluse with mysterious psychotic tendencies, whose life changes when his innocent daughter Lauren rescues one of his intended victims and befriends him at their remote Yorkshire farmhouse.

Soon travelling businessman Jake realises he is stranded with no chance of ever being allowed to escape and that his presence in the house is gradually revealing an epic clash of wills.

Worse, the descent into darkness will unearth unexpected secrets from the past and signal a host of future shocks.
