Horror flick Girlhouse is set to debut on DVD in the UK on July 20, offering another slant on the tried-and-tested slasher formula.

Here’s the synopsis:

When a beautiful young woman enters the Girlhouse, a seamy world of all-you-can-eat, live-streaming internet fantasy, she piques the interest of one particularly disturbed online viewer. Hacking the site’s apparently impenetrable security protocols, he sets out to meet the girl of his dreams – and nothing will stop him from the face-to-face encounter of his dreams.

Combining giallo shocks worthy of Dario Argento and the stalk-and-slash sensibilities of the Halloween series, GIRLHOUSE is an incessant, brutal chiller directed by Trevor Matthews, the star of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. A cult classic in the making…

I’ll be honest, I’m always a bit dubious of films pushing themselves as ‘cult classic in the making’, but here’s the trailer for you to make up your own mind:

Girlhouse stars the likes of Ali Cobrin, Adam DiMarco and Slaine.
