Another week, another reboot.

This time around it’s 1982 Tobe Hooper/Steven Spielberg shocker Poltergeist getting the remake treatment.

Normally this would involve lots of eye-rolling on my part, but, taking into account that it stars the likes of Sam Rockwell and Jared Harris, and has the likes of Sam Raimi and Gil Kenan involved behind the camera, I’m willing to give it a chance.

Here’s the synopsis:

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporise the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
