We’re more than happy to say that Adam Wingard’s action/thriller/horror mash-up The Guest is comfortably one of our favourite films of 2014 thus far.

So for that reason, we’re understandably excited about getting our mitts on the film in home cinema form.

Well , the good news is we don’t have too long to wait – December 29 in fact.

Showcasing a barnstorming performance from former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, Wingard’s follow-up to slick slasher You’re Next is a real change of pace, with Stevens playing an army veteran who shacks up with the family of one of his (now dead) military buddies – only to unleash havoc.

The release will contain seven deleted scenes, the trailer and commentary from Wingard and writer Simon Barrett.

Also starring the likes of scream-queen-in-the-making Maika Monroe and Leland Orser (as well as featuring a stunning 80s-infused soundtrack), this is one release that pretty much demands to be purchased.
