OK, I reckon it is a pretty safe bet to say all horror fans (UK ones at least) have a soft spot for Emily Booth, the oh-so passionate genre fan that enlivens many an evening on the Horror Channel.

Well, the good news is Booth is moving on from side roles in the likes of Evil Aliens and The Reverend into more front-and-centre stuff, starting with the upcoming short film Selkie.

An adult fairytale based on a Celtic myth, Selkie will see the star take on the role of actress, producer and writer as she presents a spooky tale set in a fishing community.

Directed by her brother, Simon Booth, Selkie is set for release later this year, although the first poster has arrived offering us a glimpse of the project – we’re looking forward to this one.
