Any regular visitor to our site knows just how much we loved the Planet Of The Apes reboot a few years back.

And you’ll also know just how much we’re looking forward to next year’s sequel.

Well, the good news is the marketing machine is slowly rumbling in to gear – last week we got the ‘sinister Caesar’ teaser poster, and now we get the first teaser trailer.

Featuring a grandstanding speech from Gary Oldman, the trailer gives us a bit of an insight into what to expect – namely humans having been devestated by the virus that cropped up at the end of the last flick, allowing the apes to seize control.

Not too much is given away, but we do also get a glimpse of a mean and moody Caeser preparing to swing into action and, as teasers go, it strikes just the right balance in terms of building excitement without ruining everything.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set for cinemas in July 2014.
