OK, so any time a film changes its title mid-production is usually a sign things aren’t exactly fine and dandy, so when All You Need Is Kill (the source novel’s title) became Edge Of Tomorrow the warning lights went on.

But the first trailer still seems to suggest there’s an explosive, big-budget sci-fi actioner to look forward to, so we can roll with that.

Tom Cruise stars as a soldier of the future, forced to endure the same fatal day over and over again after being trapped in a time loop as Earth looks to fend off an alien invasion.

Yep, it all looks a bit Source Code, but with director Doug Liman at the helm, who has flashed his action credentials with the likes of The Bourne Identity and Mr & Mrs Smith, that might not be a bad thing.

Joining Cruise is Emily Blunt, with Edge Of Tomorrow set for cinemas in June 2014.
