OK, I’ve got no problem whatsoever in admitting that the first trailer for the upcoming remake of Robocop did an awful lot to change my trepidation about the update.

Well, the second trailer has now landed and guess what – I like this one as well.

Offering a bit more insight, some shouty Samuel L Jackson and plenty of metallic mayhem, the trailer has nudged me even more into the ‘actually looking forward to this now’ camp.

Joel Kinnaman takes on the role of Murphy this time around, surrounded by an impressive cast that includes the likes of Michael Keaton and Gary Oldman.

We’ve still got no real idea just whether it will stack up to the Verhoeven classic, but we’re willing to give it a chance.

This trailer edit, which popped up via Yahoo Movies, also includes an intro from director Jose Padilha.

Robocop is set to hit cinemas in February 2014.
