Being the big fans of Dario Argento that we are here at Movie Ramblings towers, we’ve been going through a familiar routine over the past few years.

A new film gets announced, we get excited that this might be ‘the one’ that sees the master return to his former glories, then it turns up and we realise it’s the same pile of tosh he’s been churning out for pretty much the last 20 years – Giallo anyone?

Which is why, while we are looking forward to Argento’s take on the Dracula legend (and we’ll definitely watch it), we’ll certainly reserve any judgement until after the fact.

Especially when this latest trailer turns up, looking, if I’m brutally honest, pretty damn cheesy.

Thomas Kretshcmann takes on the role of the Count, with Rutger Hauer turning up as Van Helsing.

Naturally Asia Argento is also in there somewhere, as Lucy, while Marta Gastini plays Mina Harker.

Looking at the trailer, my first thoughts are cheap, hammy and garishly coloured, but let’s hope things are not quite that bad when this eventually turns up on British shores.
