Despite their team-up in both office hits The Expendables and The Expendables 2, the last year or so has not exactly been vintage for either Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Both suffered major misfires when they attempted to reposition themselves as relevant action stars – Stallone with Bullet To The Head and Arnie with The Last Stand.

But, with so much quality in their respective back catalogues, we are more than willing to give them another chance, and the Escape Plan looks an interesting prospect.

Formerly known as The Tomb, this sees Stallone star as Ray Breslin,  a security expert who somehow finds himself incarcerated in a new, hi-tech, maximum security prison.

Breslin not only has to find a way out, but also who put him there in the first place – with the help of Arnie’s Swan of course.

Also starring the likes of 50 Cent and Vincent D’Onofrio and directed by Mikael Hafstrom (who previously helmed the likes of 1408 and The Rite), the trailer promises the usual grizzled action, some one-liners and plenty of macho posturing, so we are happy to look forward to this one when it hits cinemas in September.
