Anybody that is a regular visitor to our site knows just how much we are looking forward to The Dead 2: India, the Ford Brothers’ follow-up to their stunning zombie flick from 2011.

Well, the great news is those devilish chaps at Frightfest have announced that the sequel will be the opening night film at this year’s five-day horror shindig – and we cannot wait.

This time around the action (funnily enough) takes place in India, with an American engineer battling against both time (and zombies) to reach his pregnant girlfriend as an undead apocalypse rises.

Unsurprisingly, the Ford brothers themselves seem pretty stoked to have been chosen.

Howard and Jon said: “It’s truly an honour to be the opening film – mind blowing!

“Being at Frightfest for The Dead was such an incredible experience for us and one of our highlights for the whole journey with the film.

“It’s an awesome event with a brilliant crowd and we both sincerely cannot wait.”

Frightfest 2013 will run from August 22-26.
