We’d barely finished uploading our news piece on the debut of a new teaser poster for prequel 300: Rise Of An Empire, when Warners decided to up the promotional ante by unleashing this trailer.

Showcasing plenty of bloodthirsty carnage, this promo sets out quite clearly that the follow-up to Zack Snyder’s mammoth hit (Snyder is on producing duties here)┬áis once again going to have all the over-the-top bloodshed, slo-mo violence and visually stunning sequences that made the first flick such a standout.

This time round the film is based on the legendary graphic novelist Frank Miller’s latest effort Xerxes, documenting Greek general Themistokles’ crusade against the Persian hordes.

Starring the likes of Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green and Lena Headey and directed by Noam Murro, the film hits cinemas next year.
