To celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of Peter Cushing today, this weeks production photograph is taken from the set of the first Star Wars film.

Featuring both the man himself and Carrie Fisher, George Lucas is also present giving direction to the venerable actor and his young co-star.

Playing the part of Grand Moff Tarkin, George Lucas allowed Cushing to play the role mostly in his slippers on the account that the boots dug into his feet. As a result, apart from a few shots camera operators had to shoot him from the knees up.
