Hollywood often has the knack of resembling London buses, with two vehicles aiming for the same destination appearing within touching distance of each other.

Back in the day we have had Mars movies (Red Planet & Mission To Mars), volcano movies (Dante’s Peak & Volcano), asteroid movies (Deep Impact & Armageddon) and so on.

Which is why it should come as no real surprise that, while terrorists in the White House flick Olympus Has Fallen is ticking over nicely at the US box office, another terrorists in the White House flick is on its way.

This is White House Down, directed by that doyen off mega-budget explosions Roland Emmerich and featuring a starry cast that has Channing Tatum as a policeman forced into action and Jamie Foxx as the President.

The trailer features all the usual fireballs we have come to expect from Emmerich, so let’s hope for more entertaining nonsense when this hits cinemas in September.
