Frightfest Glasgow preview: The Lords Of Salem Simon Fitzjohn January 31, 2013 Features, Film4 Frightfest 3504 Satanic horror will be on the menu at Frightfest, thanks to Rob Zombie’s The Lords Of Salem. Proudly billed as being director Zombie’s darkest hour (or two), the film tells the tale of Boston late-night DJ Heidi Hawthorne (naturally played by Sheri Moon Zombie). Hawthorne receives an intriguing promo record from a band known as The Lords, only to discover it is actually a tune played during the Salem witch trials back in the day. Wouldn’t you know, after playing it the DJ starts to hallucinate all sorts of crazy things – well, that’s if the trailer is to be believed anyway. I must admit, I’ve always had a soft spot for the work of Zombie – heck, I even found his take on Halloween a decent watch, so it will be interesting to see what he does with this sort of material. Also starring a quality horror supporting cast such as Ken Foree, Dee Wallace and Meg Foster, The Lords Of Salem screens in Glasgow on Friday, February 22.
