Ben Wheatley may be riding the crest of a wave after the release of his critically-adored Sightseers last week, but thoughts have already turned to his next flick.

In fact, A Field In England is already in the bag, but today sees the release of the first poster for the film due next year.

A murky adventure set during the English Civil War, the poster has a Cavalier (or royalist) stomping through a field, backed by a foreboding red moon.

I really hope Wheatley nails this one – having written my university dissertations on the Civil War I have longed for a film to match the likes of Vincent Price classic Witchfinder General.

A Field In England stars Julian Barratt, Michael Smiley and Reece Shearsmith.
