Frightfest Halloween preview: Gallowwalkers Simon Fitzjohn October 25, 2012 Features, Film4 Frightfest 2348 Seemingly stuck in development hell for what appeared an eternity, Gallowwalkers receives a welcome premiere at Frightfest as the all-nighter’s surprise film. Supposedly put on hold while star Wesley Snipes served his jail sentence for fraud, this mash-up of western and zombie flick looks as though it could be worth the wait. Snipes plays Aman, a mysterious gunslinger who, after being cursed by God, finds out that everybody he kills returns to life as a zombie – which I’m presuming is a bit of a bummer. Before long Aman has an army of the undead on his tail, led by the vicious Kansa, so the gunslinger enlists the help of a warrior, Fabulos, as he looks to rid the world of the menace once and for all. The press release promises the good, the bad and the ugliest fistful of corpses and the trailer looks like fun, so let’s hope this Andrew Goth-directed effort will not be a surprise that falls flat.
