It seems like a horror festival wouldn’t be a horror festival these days without some form of found footage folly, and Frightfest happily oblige with The Helpers.

An American effort, the flick sees a bunch of seven friends heading on a road trip to Las Vegas get into a whole bunch of trouble after the car suffers a flat tyre.

At first everything seems great as they are offered food and lodging as well as a tow truck, but before long they are bound and gagged and facing a painful death.

It all leads back to some shadowy incident at the Story Lane Orphanage back in 1993 you see, which may or may not be explained during the course of the film.

Directed by former music producer-turned-film-director Chris Stokes and starring the likes of Kristen Quintrall, Christopher Jones and JoJo Wright, The Helpers screens at the Frightfest all-nighter on October 27.
