Video: Avengers Assemble for new poster and trailer Colin D Miller February 29, 2012 Latest News and Videos 2057 Avengers Assemble In an effort to not confuse us Brits, Marvel have renamed the Joss Whedon directed Avengers to Avengers Assemble. We can only assume that the studio was slightly paranoid that movie goers in the UK might be put off by the fact that it shares a similar name with a certain cinematic flop that was released back in 1998 which featured Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes and a since retired Sean Connery. Despite the fact that every Marvel film (with the exception of those that are tied to rival studios of course) have been building up to this cinematic comic ensemble, I can’t help but feel this name change is a bit pointless. 1998 was 14 years ago and surely the films demographic audience would have forgotten this travesty. If I was a betting man, I’d put money on whether half them were even born. None the less Marvel’s Avengers will assemble later this year and to celebrate this, an impressive new trailer has been released along with a new poster.
